Course Objectives:

> Review principles of physical geology, and give an overview of current hypotheses and research in the geological sciences.

> Develop critical thinking and presentation skills.

> Meet the faculty; discuss potential research projects and funding opportunities.

> Survey of ISU and Geology Department Resources.

> Overview of SE Idaho Geology.


Text: None required, however there will be numerous readings from Understanding the Earth: A New Synthesis. Unfortunately this book is out-of-print, so appropriate readings will be xeroxed and placed in a bin in the reading room (PS 204A). Copies of other assigned readings will also be placed in this bin.
