Teaching Laboratory
The teaching computer lab is located next door to the Digital Mapping Lab
and centrally located in the geosciences department. The Teaching
Lab is for classes that require the use of computers such as geostatistics
and remote sensing, gps and others. It is set up with the 14 PC workstations
facing the front of the room in classroom style
with the instructor
workstation at the front of the room. There is a dry erase board
at the front of the room along with a built in projector screen and LCD projector
for presentations.
A digital television broadcast system is available and about half of the classes held in the lab utilize this equipment to broadcast classes to Boise and Idaho Falls.
When the lab is not reserved for classes, it is open to all students
majoring in the geosciences department.
The software on each includes Microsoft Office Suite, ArcMap, ArcPad, Trimble Pathfinder, ENVI remote sensing software, MatLab and other software as needed for classes
