Deadline: March 15, 2007
PDF Application

The NASA Idaho Space Grant Consortium (ISGC) provides limited funding up to $400 to K-12 educators for attending workshops, conferences or teacher training activities that provide opportunities for learning new techniques or methods for teaching math, aerospace, planetary science, astronomy, and other sciences relative to NASA's interests. Microgrants are awarded for meetings or workshops attended from September 1, 2006 to March 15, 2007. Small requests are given more consideration to permit support of a wider range of teachers.

Requests for funding should describe how participation in the activity will benefit the teacher and his/her students and how the information gained will be incorporated into the classroom. Award recipients will be asked to provide a summary of new or enhanced classroom techniques that they are using in their classroom.

An “in-kind” and/or monetary match equal to or exceeding the requested funds is required from a non-federal source. Examples of match include equipment purchased by the school, salary, volunteer time, items donated, etc. All expenditures, in-kind contributions, and matching funds must be documented and retained in the school district's files for three years. A one page final report is also required after the funds have been encumbered. Checks will be issued in the name of the school only and W-9 forms must be filled out by each institution before awards can be processed.
