ISU Geology Field Camp - Lost River Field Station
Idaho State University, Department of Geosciences Field Camp
Please comment on the facilities at Lost River Field Station. . . . Ideas of how to improve appreciated.
• Awesome. Clean, enough little personal spaces in barn & tents to accommodate anyone reasonable. My tent had various rips, but nothing big.
• Really guys, insulate upstairs, its worth losing some head room. More power fans. Maybe portable heating devices as well.
• Rips in tent-permanent building structures to sleep in would nice. More insulation in barn.
• The computer lab was too hot. Other than that, everything else was just fine.
• Rip in the door and the zipper of my tent. Maybe some form of air conditioning for the barn. Either a swamp cooler or a window unit to make a more productive environment for working on hot days.
• A better (Quiet) work area. Have tents repaired before camp starts.
• I think that the log cabin idea would be good.
• LRFS facilities were much better then I could have hoped for in a field camp.
• My canvas tent has no ties on the front flaps. The 3rd bathroom has no water pressure, the loft gets beastly hot. Other than that, great.
• Cabins or bunkhouse rather than tents, a wall air conditioner in loft window to allow better working environment.
• Top knotch facility; we can't pamper ourselves too much though because it is field camp. We could do w/insulation in the loft; just put it against the metal in pieces between the wood.

• Why are the lids on the toilets smaller than the toilets? Makes it tough to open (not a big deal)…Get a new hot tub pump! Get a actual chemical kit for hot tub…Log cabins!
• May I suggest a new washing machine. I stopped washing my clothes because it really didn't do anthing / they did not come even close to clean.
• ok - rips in tent-bottom of door & bottom of left wall. LRFS is great facility. Allows for production of better work product I think and less overhead of just existing, meaning more time for geology. Need better CD player (that doesn't skip, has better amp and speakers).
• This place felt like home during the first week.
• New hot tub heater. W/hydro jets.
• LRFS is awesome-no improvements really.
