ISU Geology Field Camp Application

Field Camp will be May 27th to June 30th, 2008


To apply for Idaho State University's Geology Field Camp:

1 -  Complete the Field Camp Application - must be in by Feb 15

2 - Attach a statement that summarizes:

2 - A letter of recommendation from a professor or geologist

All applications must be in by February 15th. Review of applications begins immediately and camp may be completely full by February 16th. Qualified students will be accepted on a first-come, first-serve basis until camp is filled. Late applications are welcome as long as room is available. A $100 non-refundable deposit is necessary within 2-3 weeks of acceptance.

The balance of the field camp fees should be paid by May 15th of each year. The cost, including fees and tuition, is approximately $3200. Please double check with staff, before sending any money. If special circumstances prevent you from meeting these deadlines, contact the Department of Geosciences (208-282-3235) to discuss your situation.

Prerequisites: The most important prerequisite is for the student to be in STRONG physical condition and be ready to "jump in with both feet" to an intensive 16 hour-a-day, 6 days-a-week group learning experience. Completed assignments are due several nights a week, with aIf the student is a Junior or Senior Geoscience Major, specific course prerequisites are flexible, though Structural Geology and Sedimentary Geology are advised.

Once you are accepted and confirmed that you are coming, a packet of information and forms will be sent to you in preparation for field camp.
