Idaho State University, Department of Geosciences Field Camp

Final thoughts - Please summarize your feelings about your experience at ISU Geology field camp.

•  Had a lot of fun. Worth everyday here!

•  This is the biggest thing I’ve ever done - I’ll never forget it. Met and exceeded all my expectations. Thank you all smile face

•  It was great.

•  cool

•  I came to field camp a little scared and apprehensive but I learned so much and feel much more confident now.

•  Very goodMt Borah

•  Really fun and will miss the good times and new friends

•  LRFS was awesome!

•  I have a tough time gaining perspective until a while after the fact, but I believe I am now very well prepared to continue my studies in geology now, and can’t wait to do just that. Cheers!

•  Be adventurous – make the most of your time in the middle of nowhere. You can always find things to do…

•  Less physically demanding than anticipated, but much more mentally/academically demanding!

•  Very enjoyable; long but not too long. Had an excellent group this year. Professors know how to have fun, makes camp less stressful.

•  Great place and Great Geology!

•  I really enjoyed my time here, but I wish that there had been more time off to enjoy Idaho with my fellow campers.

•  It wasn’t what I had expected. Those that brought dogs could not control them. Having them inside when dinner or breakfast was served, begging for food and then fighting with each other is not responsible. The dogs by themselves were fine, but keeping them near each other brings out those that are the Alpha dogs. I should not have to strain to hear the teachers because dogs are barking. I felt like I could not be myself, that I had to be tough like the guys. It seemed almost, that the faculty didn’t care. There were few that would actually hold conversations with me that were not related to geology.

•  Hard but rewarding. I am pleased at my choice of field camp.

•  An excellent learning experience in a wonderful setting with exceptional people.
